Time
Thursday, February 10 · 6:00pm - 9:00pm

LocationPhoenix Urban Research Laboratory (PURL)
234 N. Central Avenue
Phoenix, AZ

With special thanks to our wonderful sponsor, Emergency Restoration Experts, we are able to keep this event FREE for the community!

Rogue Green, in conjunction with Keep Arizona Beautiful, are happy to keep the momentum going in helping everyone "walk their talk" by bringing engaging and authentic green industry folks to blow your mind.

My friend Josiah is one of those people. Plus he's really fun and cute.

Networking: 6 - 6:30p, followed by Josiah's presentation and Q & A. We will then probably head over to Ghost Lounge to carry on the discussion, as PURL does not allow alcohol on site.

About Josiah: Josiah Cain is Director of the Program in Sustainable Design at UC Berkeley Extension and Founder of Design Ecology, a multi-disciplinary design consultancy best known for high-performance ecology on structure and integrated water management solutions. He has provided sustainability-driven consultation, master planning and design for clients in the hospitality, campus, civic, and residential sectors for the past 18 years. Josiah has been a featured speaker at major conferences and universities and taught courses at UC Davis, Sonoma State University, and Esalen Institute. Professionally he has led project teams for clients including the New York Dept. of Environmental Protection(DEP), University of California, and Museum of Northern Arizona. Josiah is a registered landscape architect and permaculture designer, and he holds design degrees from University of California at Davis and the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Josiah's lecture will discuss global development trends, ecological urbanism, and innovative site water management strategies for dry climates. He will present the role of ecological systems in infrastructure management and show case studies from Los Angeles, New York, California, Mexico, and Arizona. This event will be a great opportunity to expand your understanding of integrated ecological design, including resiliency, adaptability, and regenerative development strategies.
